Description

Academia Cristo Rey is a Catholic School serving students in preschool and kindergarten  to grade twelve.  The school opened in September, 1961.  It is a non-profit organization owned and directed by a Board of Directors.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to develop individuals with a solid relationship with God and others, with full command of their academic skills, sports, and the English language, without disregarding their Puerto Rican identity, their skills in the fine arts, and their cultural values.

Total: 586 co-ed students

Faculty and Personnel

Principal, Vice-Principal, 40 classroom teachers, 3 physical education instructors, music teacher, social worker, school nurse, network administrator, all degreed and certified.

Accreditation

Accredited by the Puerto Rico General Council of Education and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

Spiritual Growth

Religious instruction in the Catholic Faith, daily prayer, sacramental preparation, active  participation in liturgical celebrations, retreats, and service projects.

Curriculum

Core curriculum required by the Department of Education - Language Arts (Spanish, English, French), Math, Social Studies, Science, Handwriting, Art, Music, Environmental Science, Digital Photography, Physical Education, and Religion Education.  Basic skills are reinforced and enrichment is provided through various methods.  Computers are integrated throughout the curriculum and are Internet connected.

Daily Schedule

Full Day-Classes begin at 7:50A.M. and dismissal at 3:10P.M.

Preschool Program

 Our pre-school program provides a pleasant Christian environment where your preschooler can grow and develop through many motivating skills and activities.
 

Nutritional Federal Program

We provide breakfast and lunch for our students.

Extra-Curricular

• Intramural basketball, volleyball, soccer sponsored by a private instructor, Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts. 

• All seniors contribute a minimum of 40 hours of community service.

• ACR offers spiritual growth through weekly mass, retreats, liturgies and prayer  services.

• There are several fine arts performances throughout the year which include music, choir, plays, photography displays, and a talent show.

• Other activities include the Science Fair, Book Fair, History talks, media presentations, field trips, Math tutoring, supervised homeworks, Stock Market Game, and other educational contests.
